Are you looking for something special for a diorama? How about a Belgian portable writing desk – which can even be used as a German “beute” item after 1940 – with on top an image of King Albert I of Belgium.
This fairly large (measurements are 33 x 27 x 17 centimeters) set is something special, which we never had before. It’s size gives it a striking appearance. For it’s age (over 80 years old) it’s in pretty good condition and it also comes with several items of original content, e.g a number of original writing papers, a writing pen, two different old (german?) razors, two packages of razorblades, 2 banknotes, an inkbottle, several old ink writing “crown” heads. The set appears not complete, but that would not be too strange considering it’s age and that it was actually used!
The design of the whole “case” is interesting with several more or less hidden spaces, i.e. two small hidden drawers: one with the ink bottle the other containing two compartiments for holding small items like the razers and such. Also the pen’s (only one available) can be taken out. It’s a very interesting item with an even more interesting design! The whole box is made of a heavy cardboard like structure.
On top is an image of Belgian King Albert I, which dates to 1934. It appears to be similar to a postcard.
At the time this must have been a very expensive item and definately not something for everyone.
A real interesting set, and for sure a killer items for any diorama!
Preferably pick up after an appointment (at any Dutch of most European fairs), although shipping is possible too (we pack very well, but please mind that due to its size and fragility it will be a very large parcel). Do not hesitate to e-mail us any questions you may have on forehand.
