Description
This is an amazing original Blutorden / Bloodorder in great conditionm in full called: Ehrenzeichen des 9. November 1923 .
On it’s original and at the top original sewn together Bloodorder ribbon, exactly as it should be.
The Blutorden number is #3545. Although the list of second type Bloodorder recipients is known, it is not possible to match numbers to names. Consensus among researchers is however that the range this particular issue number falls in, was strictly for Austrian recipients.
It is uncleaned and light worn, with an amazing patina and remaining original smoked grey colour.
Under the issue number is a mark for the 800 silver content.
This particular Bloodorder has a pretty long and decent history in the collectorsworld. It was e.g. already published in the famous (although by now outdated) second edition of the political “For Führer and Fatherland” book of author Angolia in the 1970’s (see the hereby enclosed black and white images). The chain of ownership tells it was at one time also part of the David Littlejohn collection. There is a very distinctive dent in the midle of the Feldherrnhalle and light on the stairs. This is most probably from period wearing as the soft silver easily damages. It has also has been there since the Bloodorder is known and which one can see was also already in Angolia.
The bloodorder was the highest award of the Third Reich and was as such already a very rare award with only about 4100 medals every awarded. Very few have however survived the war and it is today one of the rarest awards to find on the collectorsmarket.
The here offered medal comes with a life long guarantee on originality. Pickup is prefered, although insured shipment is of course possible. Please wait after ordering with payment till we contact you per e-mail to talk about desired shipment.
Ps: for those of you that are aware of what SODcast researchvideo’s are, my good friend Jo made a microscopic video of the Bloodorder and posted it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEwDSCTKXBQ&t=355s (dont be put off by the swearing and a fake medal that was mixed in the video and destroyed as a joke).
