Description
This is a female brooch from the “Staatliche Schwesternschaft Sachsen” from 1936.
The brooch is – as is clear from its appearance – made in the style of the wellknown NSDAP partybadges, with a white enameled centre that prominently shows a black enameled Hagal-rune.

Despite the controversial meaning of the Armanenrunen, it is somewhat understandable that a rune that depicts “life” and “death” was chosen as centre symbol on a sistersbrooch.
The red enameled border has running around the border the words: “Staatliche Schwesternschaft Sachsen” written.
On the back is a pinplate with two times the “Ges Gesch” (protected by law) abbreviation, which is also stamped in on the lower end on the back. The needle is a little twisted.
The overall condition is good, but there are a few minor chips in the red enamel, hard to see with the naked eye. The brooch was obviously worn, and perhaps for a longer time too, as the following link: https://hait.tu-dresden.de/ext/forschung/der-freiheitskampf-artikel.asp?id=51286 states that the workinguniform of the sisters had changed and the brooch was already in 1936 introduced.
Very rare to find, and only the first we could ever offer. I deem to have priced it very well according to condition. This is a badge that would fit in very well with any partybadge collection!
