Description
This is a collection of five danish WW2 reissued M42 “Lokal Forsvars Region” helmets. The lot consists of helmets numbered I, II, III, IV and V. The price is for all five together.
All helmets were used as can be seen by the side writing for LF.R I – V. This stands for Lokalforsvarsregionen [local defense regions]
At the end of the war Denmark was divided in 5 resistence regions, at the last stages of the war these tried to cooperate and kick out the German army and collaboration danish troops. The here offered five helmets are as can be seen by their respective numbers from all the five regions. All helmets are of origin german WW2 helmets that were conquered and re-used by the Danish troops and got added the respective resistence region numbers to their sides, flanked by the abbreviation LF.R. At the other side was often added a paper danish decal.
- Helmet LF.R.I is size 58 and CKL marked.
- Helmet LF.R.II is size 58 and CKL staped and still has the paper decal and is on the leather liner DOBLE NAMED. once to a german soldier named Johan Verhaag and (later to a danish soldier named Frode Hald Madsen.
- Helmet LF.R.III is CKL marked and shows where a danish paper decal was added. It still has the chin strap.
- Helmet LR.R.IV is size 58 and CKL 55 stamped and still has the paper decal.
- Helmet LF.R.V is a former SS helmet and CKL stamped with lotnumer 2634. The SS decal is still partial visible under the paper danish decal.
All helmets are complete with liner, in as found untouched condition. Nothing cleaned or altered. The conditions of all five helmets differ from pretty good to used and with signs of rust.
This is a very rare complete grouping of five helmets from all five late war danish resistence regions. Simply a great collection in itself with a lot of history and character. I deemed the group too special to tear it apart and thus offer all five helmets together for sale to keep the group complete.
