(Denmark) Q64 M40 Danish WW2 reissued “Lokal Forsvars Region II” helmet with decal.
This is a great Danish WW2 reissued M40 Helmet.
It was as can be seen by the side writing for LF.R II. This stands for Lokalforsvarsregion II Nord- og Midtjylland (LFR NORD) [local defense region North- and middle Jutland]
At the end of the war Denmark was divided in 5 resistence regions, at the last stages of the war these tried to cooperate and kick out the German army and collaboration danish troops. This helmet is as can be seen by the number, from resistence “Region II” and was originally a german helmet that was conquered and re-used by the Danish troops.
At the other side is part of the paper danish decal still present.
Marked with Q64, indicating production by the Quist firm. This firm is known to have produced the M40 model untill late 1944, while other companies all adopted the M42 model. The lotnumber is DN343.
Complete with it’s original liner, in as found untouched condition. Nothing cleaned or altered.
A great helmet with a lot of history and character.
