Description
Dutch call for capitulation 14 May 1940: large Pamphlet “Aan de Commandant te Utrecht”
Approximately 46 x 38 cm
Modern frmaed.
Teh condition is typical for the age, especially considering this is a pamphlet. There is some typical damage on the edge and the middle, t looks however amazing when framed.
The pamphlet was a call for the Dutch capitulation. If the Dutch did not surrender to the Germans, they would bomb Utrecht, just like they did Rotterdam the same day. This made a great impact on commander Winkelman, and within 24 hours the Dutch surrendered.
This is a very rare pamphlet and interesting piece of dutch history, it was not spread in large numbers and is as a result very very hard to find.
It can be shipped with or without frame. Pickup in person, or at any militariafair in the Netherlands is preferable.
