Description
(Dutch) Luchtbeschermingsdienst (LBD)/Toezicht Politieke Delinquenten Amsterdam grouping with very rare L.B.D. ORANJE liberation armshield.
This is a very interesting grouping. All documents from the same woman, named Mevrouw A.A..J.H. Ubbens-Böttger, who was a “Blokhoofd” (Blockhead) of the LBD in Amsterdam since 1939 and throughout the war.
A.A..J.H. Ubbens-Böttger was born in Soerabaja in the Dutch Indies on 4 May 1904. Her Persoonsbewijs with passphoto and fingerprint is included in the group as well. After the Second World War she volunteered for the Stichting Toezicht Politieke Delinquenten Afdeeling Amsterdam, and the Bureau Volksherstel Amsterdam.
The group was found recently and consists of several of her passes for the LBD, Bureau Volksherstel, Stichting Toezicht Politieke Delinquenten Afdeeling Amsterdam, and several other documents and flyers.
Two special items really stand out:
- Her Luchtbeschermingsdienst (L.B.D.) ORANJE armshield. This is the first such metalic shield i have ever seen in over 30 years of collecting. Due to the world ORANJE being present, it must obviously be from the liberation period in 1945 in Amsterdam. The shield for sure is a Locally in Amsterdam (only?) used shield. Very rare!
- A Luchtbescherming medal in enveloppe of issue, for Amesterdam Luchtbescherming WIJK I-III Wedstrijd E.H.B.O. on 14-6-1944. Leader A. Snijders. Blok 8. 2e Prijs. This medal too i have never before encountered in my life.
A very rare unique grouping, with all together belonging items. In as found condition.
