Description
German medalbar with WWI Iron Cross second class (Ek2), + Kriegsverdienstkreuz second class (KVK2), Friedrich August medaille in silver, Frontkämpfer Ehrenkreuz (FEK), Dienstauszeichnung 15 Jahre, Treue Dienste 25 Jahre kreuz, Westwall medal.
In good condition 7 place medalbar.
If we “read” the medalbar we see a typical World War I veteran from Saxonia (Sachsen) as can be seen by the Friedrich Augustmedal. He earned the Iron cross in the Great War and was also given the 15 Year cross for service (being in the army before the war already). Later in 1934 he got the Frontkämpfer Ehrenkreuz that all WWI veterans got. For loyal working for the same employer for 25 years he got the 25 year service cross (Treue Dienste 25 Jahre Kreuz) in 1938 or shortly after this date when the cross was instituted. In World War 2 he was of the age that he could still do “Kriegswichtige arbeit” [war important work] and earned the War Merit Cross with swords. Also (probably just before the war) he got the Westwalmedal for work done for building the Westwall defense line), this might be related to the job he got and which he was awarded the Treue Dienst 25 year cross for.
All together an honest and fairly large medalbar with 7 medals. Nothing high end, but as a whole very hard to find like this!!!
In good condition with functional needle.
