Description
This is a groouping of Gefreiter August Gottlieb, who died in Wolchow on 14 april 1944, after being hit by shrapnell on the right side of his torso. After being hit he was brought to a Lazarett, were it was determined that he was paralysed at both legs. He died in the lazarett the same day. Gottlieb was buried at the Ehrenfriedhoff in Kreuzburg/Düna.
The grouping contains several letters to his father and mother, photo’s of Gottlieb in uniform at several locations, e.g in the snow and in full wintercloth, a deathcard thankletters and enveloppe from the family.
Historically an interesting group, that very well shows the sadness of war.
All documents in good condition.
