Description
This is a great vintage original Philips Radio reciever Model 930A.
It was made in 1931/32.
The size is pretty spectacular with a size of 41 x 47 x 17 centimeters.
The condition overall is good, of course there are some scratches and agemarks, but with keeping in mind that this i an 90 year old piece of equipment that was no doubt at the time heavily used for many year, it is actually in good condition!
As can be seen from the backphoto ther are three tubes missing. This is not damage, thee can easily be tuck back in. Spare ones are all the time available online at e.g. Ebay and other platforms.
This is a great piece of vintage equipment that will guaranteed look good in e.g. a period militaria diorama or museum. Due to it’s size it’s an eay eyecatcher!
The functionality has not been tested. Please mind this item is over 80 year old, and we offer it as a display collectable to collectors or museums.
IMPORTANT: due to it’s size, weight and fragile material this is a pickup item only! Since we are constantly on the road we can probably also deliver it anywhere it in the Netherlands, or at any militariafair.

Notes
The Philips model 930A (nicknamed “Schinken” or “boîte à jambon”, ham box) is a regenerative TRF
It has three wavebands, 200 – 450 m (I), 400 – 950 m (II), and 900 – 2100 m (III).
Two different mains transformers with different dimensions were used during production of the set. They are interchangeable. There are also two different variable condensers used: a mica type, and a “Lilliput” type (from February 1932 onwards).
The cabinet of the 930A is made of “Arbolite” – a formica-like material made from layers of paper, cellulose and phenol resin, fused under high pressure, and finished with wood imitation print. A bakelite Philips logo covers the loudspeaker opening.
