Commemorative medal for the French-german war of 1870/1871.
In very good condition for it’s age, made up as a lovely single mount set up medal.
This is one of the originals, with on the edge written: “Aus Erobertem geschut” (Made of conquered Canons!)
These medals were made as a visual and actual remembrance item to carry by German veterans of the French-german war of 1870. The medals were made of actual conquared and melt down French canons, thus every veteran could Always carry a piece of the former enemy with him.
