Are you also tired of all the fake SS Mein Kampf Wedding caskets doing the rounds for the last 15 years? How about an original wooden casket for a change? This is not yet another humped up “ultra rare – fake! – SS box” with some made up story, but instead a real wooden period box to house the book!
This is an original Mein Kampf wood casket, in which fits very nicely a wedding edition. Pleqase look at the many photo’s we included under here, it came originally with the shown wedding edition book, although we sell only the casket! Just to be sure: the laws in our country (the Netherlands) do allow to sell Mein Kampf, but we dont want to sell it. So this is just the case itself. If you represent a museum or researchinstitution, and can proof to us you need the book for your collection, exhibition or research, we might consider donating the book itself for free to use for educational purposes. Over here in the Netherlands such institutions and several museums as e.g the NIOD (Nederlands Instituut voor Oorlogs, Holocaust- en Genocidestudies) also constantly give the book away for scientific and educational research studies when they get some editions donated again, we applaud that practice and are of the same opinion. We should never forget history and learn from the mistakes in the past. This is why Dutchmilitaria.com has no political agenda, we are strongly against any right wing idea’s and only support history and research to learn from past mistakes. History should be lesson for everyone, to contribute building a better world without discrimination.
Ok, so far the introduction, what do we have here for offer? An original and perhaps – or most probably – homemade wooden casket (measuring an impressive 30 x 24 x 6 centimeters).
The wood work is very good, if you look at the detailed frontcover it shows that this was made by a skilled person. The way also all the outside parts fit together resembles the work of someone who knows how to built e.g furniture, all the seperate side pieces fit together. On top of the front “cover” is an aluminium swastika affixed. The screws to hold the front are a bit loose, but that wont distract from the amazing display piece this is. On the inside is a large picture of Hitler, this might have come from another publication, but it fits nicely here and it’s obvious why it was added by the person who made the box. There are also some age damage points, also it appears there once was a lock that is now missing. We sincerely hope this item will find its way into a museumdisplay, as it would look amazing in a glass display with some other period items. This box deserves to be seen!
Now what is it exactly? Most probably this was a special gift of some sorts (the wedding edition might indicate perhaps a wedding gift?), although we dont know it’s exact purpose. We could make up an exciting story like many other sellers do, but that is not how we work. The item simply is what it is, a very interesting and amazing looking wooden casket for housing the MK wedding book. We are not aware of any others in existence, so it will be a unique displayitem for any collection or museum!
Again we want to state that although it is perfectly legal in our country to sell items like this, we distance ourselves from any political or historical background and just sell this casket for educational, research and/or historical and collecting purposes.
