Description
This is a Nederlandse KNIL M40 helm met helmplaat [Royal Neherlands East-Indian Army, Model 40 helmet with fromtplate].
The helmet has it’s original green paint and comes with original liner and rare leather neckflap. Alle three pockets for stuffing horse hair are present, as is the chinstrap.
Thee is in white paint the original sizestamp “1” in the back on the inside.
Textbook original helmet.
The Dutch Knilhelmets are very VERY hard to find and are together with the Dutch Marine helmets the very rarest of all dutch army helmets. These comes very rarely for sale and the few that are known are all sitting in collections. Finding one in this very good good condition is very hard!
