Background:
The National Aid Fund for the victims of the war, also known as the National Aid, was the name for the institution in Norway which during the war in 1940–1945 was responsible for collecting and distributing aid to victims of the war. The agency’s most important task during the occupation was to coordinate aid for war victims in Norway. The fund was established in 1940 and also again directly after the war in 1945 and ended with the closure of the board in 1952.
