Description

This is a NSB / Nationale Jeugdstorm first model pennant in orange.

These orange pennants were only in use in the pre-war years, when the Jeugdstorm was very small. These early pennants are near impossible to find. Afther the Jeugdstorm was re-instituted in 1940 after the German occupation, and the dutch queen had fled to England when the German army attacked the Netherlands, the Jeugdstorm didnt use the color orange (which is in the Netherlands symbolic for the royal house) as much anymore as in the pre-war years, instead they adopted the color sky-blue and used that for all their flags and pennants. This explains the rarity of the orange flags, as they were probably almost all destroyed.

The size is approximately 23 x 15,5 centimeters from tip to tip. Mind the tip was originaly sewn over, nothing damaged or missing.

This flag comes from my own collection.

Very rare and hard to find.
