Description
This is an NSB ring: “Goud om Staal” (1940).
In early 1940 the Dutch NSB launched a campaign based on the German World War I idea ofGold um Eisen” in which German people could donate gold, jewelry, etcera to support the German government to continue the war. German people who donated then got an iron plaque that showed their offer and support. The Dutch NSB copied this idea in early and called it “Goud om Staal”. Dutch people could donate either money or gold/jewelry and in return for their offer to the party they got a steel ring. The ring we offer here is such a ring.
The diameter is approximately 18 mm.
Not so easy to find!
