Everyone knows the white porcelain commemorative 1936 Olympia bells (saving bank and clock on foot). However, largely UNknown to most collectors are the silver painted stone (terracota?) bells from the same year, for the 1936 “Hilfsfonds für den Deutschen Sport”. These were made in only low numbers.
These bells were used for collecting charity money for the German Sports funds. The only way to get the money out, was to smash the bells and then collect the money. This explains also why these bells are as good as unknown among even the most avid collectors of Olympia 1936 memorabilia!!!
The size is approximately 12 cm high and (at the bottom) 12 cm wide.
The condition is very good! Only part of the paper on the bottom has worn of over the years. In my collecting life of over 25 years (im a Olympia collector myself) this is only the second of these bells i have literally ever found!
