Description
This is a very rare Olympia 1936 silver colored Saving Bell (Spar-Glocke Olympia), made at the time by (and for) the “Hilfsfonds für den Deutschen Sport” (the aiding fund for the German Sports).
A stone (terracota like) base material, silver painted. On the underside the remains of a paper label.
Extremely rare to find. The only way to get the money out after collecting for the fund, was to smash the bell (!), hence very few have survived!!!
Only the second i have ever seen.
A great collectible for the Olympic collector, and simply an item you hardly ever see.
