This is a spectacular Canadian pressphoto, showing a captured 12.SS-Panzer-Division “Hitlerjugend” member in Normandy, during the fighting of Caen.
“Canadian Army overseas photo: France: The wounded Germans recieve the same care as do the wounded Canadians. Here being helped to a first aid station a wounded German; Pte GAston Daigneault, .. he helps him. Pte Robert Benneau, Lyster, .. with a rifle in the back”.
The size is approximately 15,5 x 10 centimeters.
Shown is a very young SS member, who appears to be beaten up by the canadian troops.
The photo has on the back a period 16 june 1944 stamp. Canadian Military photograph.
