Description
This is a very rare buckle from Der Wandervogel (dated to the 1920’s) together with several other items from the same owner.
Wandervogel buckles are very rare to find and only a handfull is known in the collectorsworld!
A bit of background on Der Wandervogel: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wandervogel
The wandervogel movement largely influenced the Hitleryouth and in some aspects in later years the SS with symbolism like runes, pagan rituals and the search for e.g. a common german destiny and history. Although forbidden in 1933 after the NSDAP rose to power, the infuence of the Wandervogel was enormous. Finding buckles, brooches and other artifacts is however very rare!!!
The owner of the buckle and other here offered items was Arthur Bonneman, who was also a very early NSDAP member and held the extremely low NSDAP partynumber #1895!!!
The buckle is quite large and has a diameter of approximately 6 centimeter.
Three other items of Arthur Bonnemann are included:
- His 1926 dissertation on Haustierwerbung (in excellent newlike condition!)
- A stamp with his name that says: Dr. rer. nat. A. Bonnemann Diplomlandwirth
- A personal and named to Bonnemann, so called Bierzipfel (studentensassociation or in German “Burscheinschaft”) beerstein hanger.
As a group this is a great rarity of together belonging items from an early NSDAP and Wandervogel member. Try finding another!!!!
