Description
This is a WWI embroidered German patriotic tapestry.
It has a massive size of approximately 140 x 55 centimeters and displays on both sides a 1914 dated iron cross with a wreath of leaves.
In the centre is written: “Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit sind des Glückes Unterpfand! Blüh im ganze dieses Glückes, blühe, deutsches Vaterland!” [Unity and justice and freedom are the guarantee of happiness! Bloom in all this happiness, bloom, German fatherland!].
This would look even more impressive when professionally framed and could be the backdrop on any WWI collectorsroom.
Overal in very good condition and rare to find.
