This is an Austrian Great War honor cross with citation (“Österreichische Kriegsehrenkreuz”). These were given to austrian veterans of the First World War. The swords ont he ribbon indicate actual frontservice in the trenches.
The citation is dated to 1934. Citations for this award are very rare to find, it is in good condition, but the owner has touched up two letters.
The cross is in good condition and is on the reverse marked with “österr. Ehrenlegion 1914-1918” (Austrian Honorlegion). The frotn reads “Pro Patria”, which is latin and translates to “For the Fatherland”.
A great set you don’t see very often and which is actually quite hard to find.
