This is a small commemorative paitning of an Austrian WWI soldier. The frame and whole painting appears to be a handcut wood frame, with a then added cut-out the portraitphoto. Ultimately it aapears to be handpainted. On the left side it is dated to 1914-16.
The dimensioans are approximately 24,5 x 15,5 cm.
On the back is the name of the maker: Brüder Popper Kunstgewerbe Anstaet from Prag. The frame was “Gesetzlich Geschutzt”.
In good condition, only minor wear-of of paint in the centre.
A real good looking frame, due to it’s size a perfect piece for displaying in a glasscabinet.
