This is a WWII German Wochenspruch (propaganda miniposter) with a saying of Friedrich der Grosse, it dates to 31 march – 6 april 1940.
These “Wochensprucher” were official by the NSDAP published little propagandaposters, that could because of their small sizes easily be hung up in houses (e.g. in the kitchen), but also in public buildings, et cetera.
The text in the centre comes from a saying of Friedrich der Grosse:
“Wie wir ohne Ketten geboren sind, so wünschen wir ohne Zwang zu leben – Friedrich der Grosse”. On the centre is a blue field with german eagle holding a sword visible
The dimensions of the Wochenspruch are approximately 35 x 24 centimeters. Ideal to list and display in e.g. a glasscabinet next to a collection.
In good condition, and very rare to find!
Will be sent rolled up in a small cardboard container which will in turn be placed in a box to keep the Wochenspruch undamaged.
