Description
This is a WWII silver German women’s brooch with odal rune in the centre.
Surrounding the border is written: “Dat Land ob dat Wie Stoht is Heil Land” [the land that someone stands on is holy land]
The Odal-rune obviously represents “heritage, inheritance, inherited estate” and was in the period of the Third Reich used to represent ownership of land, particularly by/for farmers.
On the back is engraved a name. It is also stamped with a makersname “W. Kröger” and silver hallmark stamp “800”.
In excellent condition. My old camera has a hard time taking good pictures due to the silver shiny surface. Impossible to upgrade.
Added a black and white photo of such a brooch in wear which came from google. It is of course not included physical in the sale of the brooch.
