Description
This is probably one of those items that, no matter what period or country’s items one collects, is liked by every collector: a World War 2 Swiss pigeon transportation carriage. The cage (or bsaket) is for two pigieons and contains in the wooden (reed sick?) made carriage two cushions for holding and protection the pigeons duting transportation.
The carriage is then put in a canvas case for transportation. When not travelling, it is possible to take apart the carriage and set it up with a net (which is including four iron sticks also included in the canvase case) over the seperate parts, and thus create a birdrun/freerun for the pigeons.
Hard to find and very interesting decorative item.
Edit: last picture showing a complete set up carriage taken from google.
