This is the book “In ‘t Verleden ligt ‘t Heden”. It shows old Dutch sea heroes of past centuries and sets them as example to Dutch SS men like Gerardus Mooyman and other volunteers. The book is mainly a picture/photobook.
This SS book is already rare to find, but unknown to most collectors is that a very limited edition was published especially for Dutch members of the 5. SS-Panzer Division Wiking. This special edition has a different cover with two large SS runes on top and an extra page on which was the division’s name and a round swastika sunwheel (the logo of Wiking).
Very rare to find, only the first we can ever offer! I haven’t seen another for the past decade for sale!
The book is in really good condition, tight bound, complete, however, due to bad paper the first and last pages have brown foxing spots. On the first page is also a small cutout of the owners name. The inside pages and the outside cover are perfect.
In my opinion better not to be found, that is: if you ever find a copy!!!! Extremely rare!!!
