Description
This is a metallic German WWI patriotic cigarette box: “Aus Eiserner Zeit 1914-1916”.
These came in two models, this being the rarer large model, it measures approximately 20 x 30 cm. While no specific purpose was aanounced these were often (mostly) used a tableboxes to house cigarette’s.
Due to it’s size very impressive.
The condition is used, the two hinges are gone, as is the lock. There is some light corrosion, particularly on the underside. Still a quite hard to find display item, that would look great in any World War I collection.
