Description
This is a 1936 Porcelain Olympia Bell + it’s original wooden base.
The commemorative porcelain Olympic bells were made by KPM (Königliche Porzelan Manufactur) from Berlin. The one offered here has on the inside in blue KPM the makers mark. It is in very good condition with original clapper and the rare original black lacquered wooden base.
No damage, all complete.
On the lower end of the bell is written: “11. Olympische Spiele Berlin – Ich rufe die Jugend der Welt” (11. Olympic Games Berlin – I call the youth of the world, with two swastika’s).
This is a great art object, that deserves to be seen in a glass cabinet. They are getting rarer and i’ve seen several being offered with fake wood bases/stand, the one we offer here is an all original period item from Germany from 1936!
