Description
Large Baltic states (Lithuania) swastika brooch (Hallmarked 875 silver).
The diameter is approximately 71 mm.
With green glass stone in the centre.
In good condition and due to it’s size an impressive item.
These brooches are very hard to find.
Background: While the swastika is since World War II forever connected to nazi Germany, it is a much older symbol that was in use in other countries long before World War II. Just like e.g. in india, it was in use in the Baltic states as well, particularly in Lithuania. This brooch is an example of typical use of the swastika in such manner.
