Description
This is a true rarity: an original newspaper photo printing plate of the famous foreign affairs meeting between Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini from 7-10 April 1943 in Salzburg. The original photo is by “Presse-Illustrationen Heinrich Hoffmann”, it was first published by: ‘Das 12 Uhr Blatt’ on 12.04.1943.
The dimensions are 14,8 x 11,8 centimeters.
The plate itself is unique. It is made of what appears to be messing and very thin, only about 2-3 millimeters. It was attached to a newspaper printblock and with this plate were probably thousands and thousands of newspapers printed. It’s a unique piece of history and could be the centrepiece in a collection of photographs.
