Description
This is a SS-Allach white porcelain standing Berlin bear on pedestal (stehender Bär auf Sockel ). On the bottom is the name of the designer F(ranz) Nagy and pattern number “6”, which means this was production run 6 of this particular design. It can be found with other pattern numbers as well. Number 6 was a smaller run than previous productions, i believe number 3 and 4 were made in the highest numbers, making 6 a bit more scarce. On the underside is also in green the typical Allach rune-mark consisting of two runes.
This standing bear figure with outstretched arms is 21 centimeters high.
The SS Allach Porcelain bear, also called the “Berlin Bear”, was often given to dignitaries visiting Berlin.
The condition is very good, no damages and no chips. The toes and “claws” undamaged. On the underside of the stretched arms is (as is with all of these standing bears the matter) the glazing a bit thin and it show a little dirt from age, i left this uncleaned. A little water and soap will do wonders. There is an (invisible) hairline in the glazing on the lower end of one leg, i only saw this when taking close up pictures. This is almost always the matter, but most sellers wont tell this.
Overall the bear is in extremely fine condition.

Ps: Pick-up at almost any fair in Europe is possible. Else it will be packed in tons of bubblewrap and sent in a box in another box. Due to it’s fragility i suggest insured shipment by DHL priority. (Normal shipment is of course possible, but the buyer will be contacted afterwards to discuss and suggest this option).
